EXETER COMMUNITY ALLIANCE
A HOME FOR MOVEMENTS, SOCIAL JUSTICE ACTIVISM, AND COMMUNITY EVENTS
WHO ARE WE?
Exeter Community Alliance is a collective that is supporting Climate Action Hub Exeter finding and running the physical Hub in central Exeter. Our lease on the property in Princesshay expired in August and we are having difficulty finding our next home. Once we have a Hub set up again our members will resume working out of the Hub educating the public and working on fixing the climate, social and ecological crises.
We aim to build a better Exeter and a better world.
There are now almost 100 local groups in the Exeter Community Alliance.
PRINCIPLES
PRIORITY
We believe that people and the planet come before profits. We are a collectively managed project that values cooperation and mutual aid.
EQUALITY
We believe in the right of all communities to live, create and work with dignity, respect and equitable access to resources.
JUSTICE
We uphold anti-oppressive values in our organising against racism, sexism, transphobia, ableism, homophobia, exploitation, xenophobia, and other injustices.
SYSTEM CHANGE
We know that structural problems require structural solutions. We will work with institutions that uphold and practise these same values.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
THE CLIMATE HUB
The Exeter Climate Hub has now closed after successfully running for a year. We are finding it extremely difficult to find a replacement home. Check the Climate Action Hub Exeter website for how you can help and what we (will) do there.
JOIN US
If you or your organisation would like to join us please contact us.
The Hub is available for all our groups to use.
There are no duties, obligations or rights expected of, or assigned to, groups that join the ECA. They simply get to use the space and share promotion of each others' projects and activities.

Phil was born in South India, then from age 4 grew up in Devon. He worked in botanical research; as a psychiatric nurse; and on IT for the NHS until retiring in 2019. Throughout this time he has campaigned on various environmental, animal rights, and human justice issues. He is married with 2 daughters, and enjoys gardening, cycling, walking (especially on Dartmoor), and the excellent beers at The Bridge Inn in Topsham.
